Our company RB Designs is looking forward to ringing in the new year 2012.  I decided to post this special piece of modern wall art frame iron sculpture on this last day of 2011.  Richard designed this beautiful flowing metal art with a metal "red ribbon" flourish.  We are very proud of the artwork Richard has created in past years and we are very appreciative of the support we have received from the local and national community.

We were at It's  Elemental Art Show and one of our guests said that this wonderfully designed piece of RB Designs looks like it would be perfect for a Bavarian style hunting lodge.  This piece of hand twisted wrought iron measures 12" tall x 8" long and 3" wide.

It's Elemental Art Show at the Coconino Cultural Center in Flagstaff, AZ.  Richard set up a beautiful RB Design art table full of hand made pieces for some real holiday cheer!  Despite the snow several people have come to see the fine art & craft exhibition and sale.

Richard has entered these two pieces of metal artwork in the "miniature" gallery exhibit at the Sedona Arts Center.  Sydney is named after the Sydney Opera House in Australia.  Pagoda has the Japanese pagoda design.  The requirement for entry into this exhibit is that the work of art be no larger than 6" x 6".  Each piece of iron sculpture is priced at $90.00.

After taking the month of October off beause of showing in various art shows including the 21st annual Sedona Art Festival,  I am back to showcasing Richard's unique works of hand made iron sculpture.   This new piece is called "Colorado Cabin" because it looks like it belongs in a Colorado cabin!  It is a sculpted wrought iron design set on a piece of 3/4" granite base.  Photo by Jim Petersen

"Winelabra"

Winelabra is named for the two different parts of this original design.  The name winelabra is a cross between wine and candelabra because the decorative iron art wine and candle stand holds 3 wine glasses and a bottle of wine.  The wine glasses can hold tea light candles or votive candles to create ambiant lighting for any dinner/wine party.  This picture is of a table model winelabra, it also comes in a floor design that measures 5'h x 1'8"w. The floor model hold four wine glasses and two bottles of wine. "Boots & Spurs" Western table design

The James family commissioned this iron sculpture for the center of a 12' conference table.  Everyone involved went shopping at an antique shop in Cottonwood, AZ to pick out the cowboy boots and spurs.  The base is made from flat iron set on horse shoes.  There is twisted metal and western rope with a finishing touch of a initial "J" branding iron.  This is an excellent example of the creativity level that can be accomplished for everyone with a little imagination.  This custom design is 3'L x 12"T x 5"W.

"Phoenix Fountain"

Phoenix Fountain is a unique piece of iron artwork set on blue flec granite base.  The name comes frome water fountains located in city parks around Phoenix Arizona.  Phoenix has an average temperature of 96.8 degrees in summer.  The children play in these water features for fun and relief from the heat!  It measures 1'2"H x 1'4"L x 10"W. This design represents a "round" quality that is appealing to anyone. Hand forged Gecko's

The Berge's commissioned Richard to build a new fireplace front and wanted Richard to design the fireplace doors using gecko's.  Richard hand forged these wonderful metal gecko's then had the idea to give them a dragonfly for company.  Sorry I can not put a "buy now" button on this custom RB Design!  I'll be posting the finished product soon.

Ok now Richard's really having fun creating yard art.  Rings & Things stands 5' 9" tall and is set on a 22" base of Arizona flagstone.  There is a whimsicle blue granite "gem"  measuring 6"x 4" hanging from the bottom ring that was constructed by putting two halve pieces of granite together with a chain running through the center to give the appearance of a blue granite gem hanging from chain.

We moved to Sedona in 2007 and with the need to decorate our new home and its walls, Richard designed 3/4" iron frame "Desert Ocotillo".  Since then we have sold the original and continue to  develope the next generations of the original Ocoitillo

Ships Bow sconce

Richard designed the unique light sconce for indoor or outdoor use.  In our own home in Sedona we have these beautiful wall sconces inside & outside.  The outdoor sconce dimension is 21"h x 11"w x 8" deep.  My good friend Kari Thompson cut the stained glass for these unique pieces of functional wall art.  Since we have been in Sedona Richard has made several of the "Ships Bow" style sconce for other homes.

"Tokyo Garden"

Imagine walking through the Imperial Palace Gardens in Tokyo and being inspired by design elements that are part of the gardens landscape.  This magnificent custom 4 candle holder measures 9" high x 26" long x 4" wide.  It's impressive in size and would certainly grace any grand table top.  It is set on light green moss color granite.

"Bubbles"

This art sculpture is named bubbles for obvious reasons.  Its playful design is set on double granite base with bright blue flec.  The true blue color is inspired by my brother always urging Richard to incorporate color into his iron artwork.  Here's to you Paul!  Bubbles dimensions are 28"h x 13"l x 7"w.  Over 2 feet in height.

Most of us remember the hit show from the 1960's (or not) Dr. Smith??  This art piece is designed as a three candle holder in the shape of a space ship "the Jupiter 2".  It is set on a black granite base with deep cherry buds running through the granite.  It's dimensions are 6"h x 19"l x 7"w.  People "gravitate" to this style.  Sold
